Purpose

The Delaware State Loan Repayment Program offers loan repayment assistance for healthcare professionals who agree to practice in a medically underserved area of Delaware.

Applicants must agree to practice for a minimum of 2 years, and are eligible for up to 4 years of funding.

Eligibility

The following healthcare professions are eligible to apply:

Advanced disciplines:

  • Allopathic medicine
  • Osteopathic medicine
  • General and pediatric dentistry

Mid-level disciplines:

  • Certified nurse-midwife
  • Heath services psychologist
  • Licensed alcohol and drug abuse counselors
  • Licensed clinical social worker
  • Licensed professional counselor
  • Marriage and family therapist
  • Nurse practitioner
  • Pharmacist
  • Physician's assistant
  • Psychiatric nurse specialist
  • Registered dental hygienist
  • Registered nurse

Awards are based on practitioner level and a quantitative evaluation of the application. See the table on the program website.
