Purpose

The Missouri State Loan Repayment Program provides loan repayment assistance to primary care physicians and dentists who agree to practice in a Health Professional Shortage Area.

Applicants must agree to a minimum service contract of 2 years.

Eligibility

Eligible professions include:

  • Primary care physicians (M.D. or D.O.)
    • OBGYN
    • Pediatrics
    • Family practice
    • Internal medicine
    • Psychiatry
  • Doctor of dental surgery (DDS)
  • Doctor of medicine in dentistry or doctor of dental medicine (DMD)

Missouri
Amount of funding

Up to $50,000 in return for 2 years of service in a Health Professional Shortage Area.

Up to $10,000 in additional assistance is available for professionals providing substance use/opioid use disorder treatment, behavioral health, mental health, and tele-health services.
