| Purpose |
The Kansas Accessibility Modification Program (KAMP) assists eligible persons with disabilities in making modifications to their residence, allowing the individual to attain greater mobility and remain safely in their home. KAMP focuses on the person's most immediate needs as they relate to improving safety and accessibility |
| Eligibility |
To be eligible for KAMP assistance, the following conditions must be met:
The applicant is a Kansas resident.
The applicant's annual household income must not exceed 80% of the median income for the county of residence, as established by the U.S. Dept of Housing and Urban Development.
The property to be modified is the applicant's primary residence.
The applicant's physical disabilities are verified by a physician.
If rental property, the applicant's landlord must provide written agreement.

funding |
Total available funds for the program this fiscal year will be $500,000.
Homeowners are allowed a maximum of $7,500 for repairs, while renters are allowed a total of $4,000. |
Application
process |
KAMP applicants apply directly to Grantee Agencies approved by KHRC. Grantee Agencies review applications for program eligibility and certify that the applicant's household income meets program guidelines. The Program Year is now from November 1 through October 31. The state Fiscal Year runs July 1 to June 30. |
