Purpose The goal of the Wisconsin Rural Leadership Program is to develop leaders to strengthen communities. In order to meet community challenges and recognize opportunities, Wisconsin needs leaders who show initiative, listen intently, understand the breadth of perspective on issues, assume responsibility and exercise sound decision making.
Eligibility The Wisconsin Rural Leadership Program candidate should be old enough to have demonstrated their leadership abilities and young enough to make significant leadership contributions beyond the completion of the program. Applicants are residents of Wisconsin who reflect the diversity and richness of backgrounds, cultures and experiences of the people of Wisconsin which greatly enrich the growth and development of the group as a whole.

Every two years, up to 35 participants are selected for each group based on specific criteria.
Application
process
Applications are accepted every two years. The next deadline date is November 1, 2009. The application will be in the spring of 2009 on the Program web site.
