Purpose Funding to provide financial support for the development of family violence intervention services and prevention efforts. The goal of the programs and activities supported by these funds is to improve the capacity of domestic violence programs to offer services that are culturally relevant, and accessible to victims with complex needs. Some examples of projects and activities that may be funded include, but are not limited to, training on culturally sensitive practices to prevent and respond to domestic violence in culturally-specific communities, program self-assessment to identify and develop plans to address service barriers, and training and technical assistance to develop domestic violence program capacity to serve victims of domestic violence with multiple challenges. Eligibility
  • Public and State-controlled institutions of higher education
  • Non-profits with 501(c)(3) IRS status (other than institutions of higher education)
  • Non-profits without 501(c)(3) IRS status (other than institutions of higher education)
  • Private institutions of higher education
  • Hispanic-Serving Institutions
  • Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs)
  • Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian Serving Institutions
  • Others (See below)

Public or private non-profit educational institutions that have domestic violence institutes, centers or programs related to culturally-specific issues in domestic violence; and, private non-profit organizations and/or collaborations that focus primarily on issues of domestic violence in racial and ethnic underserved communities.

All applicants must have documented experience in the areas of domestic violence prevention and services, and experience of relevance to the specific underserved populations to whom assistance, outreach, information, and technical support would be provided. Each applicant must have an advisory board/steering committee that is reflective of the targeted underserved community.

Faith-based and community organizations that meet the statutory eligibility requirements are eligible to apply under this announcement.

Foreign entities are not eligible under this announcement.
