Sponsor Office of Rural Health Policy
Deadlines June 15, 2010
Purpose The purpose of the Telehealth Resource Center Grant Program (TRCGP) is to support the establishment and development of Telehealth Resource Centers (TRCs). The Centers are to be an impartial, independent source of technical assistance to health care organizations, health care networks, and health care providers in the implementation of cost-effective telehealth programs to serve rural and medically underserved areas and populations.
Eligibility Eligible applicants include non-profit organizations and institutions.  The regional centers can be collaborative organizations, composed of more than one entity, but only one entity can be the official applicant for funding -- all others are members of the consortium or network.  For-profit and public entities may be part of a consortium, but cannot be the grantee.

Proof of non-profit status is required.  Faith-based and community-based organizations are eligible to apply for the TRCGP, as are non-profit tribal organizations.

Applicants or their network partners should have five or more years experience in providing technical assistance related to the provision of telehealth services.  If the applicant is proposing a consortium, a detailed consortium agreement must be provided.  The consortium members must have a track record of working together on common projects.  The agreement must reflect the clear organizational relationships within the consortium and the defined organizational role of each member in the proposed Telehealth Resource Center.  The consortium agreement must be signed by the chief executive officer or comparable responsible party in each organization.

To be eligible to receive a grant, the Regional TRC applicants must demonstrate that they have consulted with the appropriate State Office of Rural Health or other appropriate State entity, in preparation of the grant application.
