Purpose provides two free registrations to the National Health Policy Conference (NHPC) and four free registrations to the Annual Research Meeting (ARM). The scholarship is designed to encourage professional and educational development in health services research and policy among student members of AcademyHealth.

This scholarship commemorates the dedication of Alice S. Hersh, the founding executive director of the Association for Health Services Research (AHSR), to supporting the next generation of health services researchers.

Eligibility Applicants must be current student members of AcademyHealth and must be enrolled full-time in a masters or doctoral program at the time of application.

Application
process
To apply, students must submit the following:

  • A completed scholarship application form.
  • An essay outlining how attendance at the ARM or NHPC will assist in your educational and professional pursuits in health services research or policy.
  • A current resume.
  • Letter from faculty advisor or project coordinator (optional).
