| Purpose |
The Public Welfare Foundation supports efforts to ensure fundamental rights and opportunities for people in need. We look for carefully defined points where our funds can make a difference in bringing about systemic changes that can improve the lives of countless people. Grants are made in the following program areas:
- Criminal and Juvenile Justice
- Health Reform
- Workers' Rights
A small number of grants are made under the Special Opportunities category to field-test new ideas for helping disadvantaged people, for one-time or emergency needs such as disaster relief, to support cross-program initiatives or when unusual opportunities arise to advance the Foundation’s strategic goals. |
