| Purpose |
Awards to outstanding grassroots organizations in the United States that have moved beyond charity to create change in their communities. The awards are presented to organizations judged outstanding for their innovative and creative approaches to fighting domestic hunger and poverty by empowering people and building self-reliance. |
| Eligibility |
Applicants must be community-based nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations located in the United States. Grantee programs must go beyond emergency food, shelter, and other types of assistance to address the root causes of poverty. Applications will not be considered from organizations providing only emergency services.
