| Purpose |
The Nursing Scholarship Program authorizes scholarships to individuals for attendance at schools of nursing in exchange for service for a period of not less than two years at a health care facility with a critical shortage of nurses. |
| Eligibility |
U.S. citizens or nationals (permanent residents are not eligible);
enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a full-time or part-time student in an accredited school of nursing in a professional registered nurse program (baccalaureate, graduate, associate degree, or diploma); free from any Federal judgment liens; free from existing service commitments;
not in default of any Federal debt
Preference is given to qualified applicants with the greatest financial need who are enrolled full-time in an undergraduate nursing program.

220 new qualified applications will be selected. In exchange for at least two years service at a health care facility with a critical shortage of nurses, the Nursing Scholarship Program pays: tuition, required fees,
other reasonable costs, including required books, clinical supplies, laboratory expenses, etc. Monthly stipend ($1,233 for the 2008-2009 academic year).
