Funding for United Methodist Churches in rural areas of North Carolina for health and human service-related outreach programs, church development, and leadership programs.

Duke Endowment Child and Family Well-Being Grants
Funding to expand opportunities for vulnerable children in North Carolina and South Carolina, including out of home care and evidenced-based programs focused on prevention and early intervention for at-risk children.

Workforce Opportunity for Rural Communities (WORC): Grant Initiative for the Appalachian, Delta, and Northern Border Regions
Grants for projects in the Appalachian, Lower Mississippi Delta, and Northern Border regions that will provide career, training, and support services to eligible individuals in counties and parishes and/or areas currently underserved by other resources. Grants will support workforce development activities that prepare dislocated workers, new entrants to the workforce, and incumbent workers for good jobs in high-demand occupations aligned with a regional or community economic development strategy. High demand industries include manufacturing, IT, healthcare, and energy.

Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund
Funds programs that work in the areas of affordable housing and shelter, education and youth development, environmental stewardship, workforce, and human services within the Weyerhaeuser Company Foundation service area.

American Connection Corps
A 1-year fellowship program that trains and mobilizes leaders to work in rural and emerging communities to coordinate broadband development and digital inclusion.

Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) J-1 Visa Waiver Program
Offers a J-1 Visa waiver to foreign physicians who commit to serving for 3 years in rural Appalachian areas, allowing them to remain in the United States.

Dogwood Health Trust Leverage Fund
This program covers the costs of the services of professional, experienced grant writers to help individual organizations and collaboratives in the the Dogwood Health Trust service area pursue funding from national and state sources.

Emory University CAPES Academy for Nursing Preceptors
Training and ongoing support for registered nurses and advanced practice registered nurses transitioning into the role of clinical faculty or preceptors serving medically underserved areas within the Southeast.

Grants and Technical Assistance for Coal Communities Applying for Federal Funding
Funding and technical assistance to help coal communities submit competitive federal applications for community-led transition projects. Priority will be given to projects that are led by and serve low-income and Black, Indigenous, and People of Color communities most impacted by the transition.

Invest Appalachia Fund
Loans and technical assistance to support sectors and industries that are driving economic diversification, local ownership, and community wealth building in Central Appalachia.
