| Description |
Coastal Carolinas Health Alliance (CCHA) used a common broker for group, life and LTD insurance products.
The Director of Projects at the Alliance facilitated meetings for the HR Directors from our member hospitals to interview and select a common broker. The team members were asked to be committed to going through the process as a group. There were some members who abstained from the program and did not attend these meetings. |
| Services offered |
The Alliance Director of Projects worked with the broker to visit each participating member and gather data to start the market basket process. Each member gave the broker a % of savings that would have to be met for them to make the change and the broker would either meet or exceed each target. |
| Results |
The initial savings from this project is in excess of $750,000 and there are still four hospitals we are waiting for their final savings total. |
| Replication |
Collecting census data and letters of authorizations from the beginning would have sped this process up. |
