Purpose

The Kansas Bridging Plan offers loan forgiveness to resident physicians working in primary care, obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN), and psychiatry who agree to a 3 year service contract to work in rural areas of Kansas.

Eligibility

Eligible Kansas resident programs include:

  • Family medicine
  • Internal medicine
  • Pediatrics
  • Medicine-pediatrics
  • Emergency medicine
  • Psychiatry
  • Child Psychiatry
  • Medicine-Psychiatry
  • Obstetrics and Gynecology

Amount of funding

The combined financial incentive can be up to $26,000, and loans are forgiven at the completion of the service contract.

Up to 14 slots are for primary care, 3 slots for OB-GYN, and 3 slots for psychiatry.
