Purpose

HERO: Helping EMS in Rural Oregon Grants offer funds to rural EMS agencies to cover in-house training costs or to send staff to training that cannot be offered locally.

Priority will be given to applications from agencies:

  • Located in frontier counties
  • With a high proportion of volunteer staff
  • That are nonprofit or public entities
  • That include participation from, or collaboration with, neighboring rural EMS agencies
Eligibility

Applicants must be located in a rural area and recognized by the Oregon Health Authority EMS and Trauma Systems Program as an organization that participates in Oregon's 9-1-1 response system.

4 rural and/or frontier agencies will be awarded up to $2500 each.

Matching funds are required.
