Purpose

The Small Grants Program awards funding to nonprofit organizations in the Weinberg Foundation service area that provide direct services for poor and vulnerable populations. Grants may be used for operating, program, or capital expenses.

Funding areas include:

  • Health
  • Housing
  • Jobs
  • Education
Eligibility

Eligible applicants are nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations that:

  • Provide direct services to low-income and vulnerable populations
  • Have 2 years of 990s
  • Have 2 years of audited financial statements or external financial reviews
  • Have at least one year of program outcomes

The Foundation administers the majority of its funding in its priority communities of Baltimore, Hawaii, New York City, Northeastern Pennsylvania, San Francisco, and rural communities primarily surrounding priority communities.
