The Native Agriculture and Food Systems College Scholarship Program awards scholarships to encourage Native American college students to enter careers in agriculture and agriculture-related fields, with the ultimate goal of increasing food production, improving health and nutrition, and eliminating food insecurity in rural and reservation-based communities.
Applicants must:
- Be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student majoring in agriculture or an agricultural-related field, or be able to demonstrate how the degree program relates to native food systems
- Be able to provide documentation of tribal affiliation
- Have at least a 2.5 GPA
- Demonstrate a commitment to helping communities reclaim local food system control
Award range: $1,000 - $1,500
Estimated number of awards: 20-25
