Purpose

The Michigan Good Food Fund offers financing for enterprises working to increase access to affordable, healthy food in low-income and underserved communities in Michigan.

Loans may be used for:

  • Permanent working capital
  • Inventory
  • Equipment purchase
  • Real estate acquisition
  • Construction and property improvements
  • Facility expansion or upgrades
  • Business process upgrades

Program goals and priorities:

  • Drive economic development and job creation to grow Michigan's economy
  • Ensure equitable access to food, jobs, ownership, and flexible investment capital
  • Increase the sourcing and supply of locally grown and regionally produced foods

Eligible entities are mission-driven enterprises working to increase access to healthy food in Michigan. This includes the range of businesses that grow, process, distribute, and sell healthy food that reaches low-income and underserved communities.
