Purpose

The Minnesota Rural Dental Therapist/Advanced Dental Therapist Loan Forgiveness Program offers loan repayment assistance to final year dental therapist/advanced dental therapist (DT/ADT) students, or licensed DTs/ADTs who plan to practice or are currently practicing in a designated rural area of Minnesota.

A designated rural area is defined as a city or township that is outside the 7-county Minneapolis/ St. Paul metropolitan area, excluding the cities of Duluth, Mankato, Moorhead, Rochester, and St. Cloud.

Eligibility

Final year DT/ADT students, or licensed DTs/ADTs who plan to practice or are currently practicing in a designated rural area are eligible to apply.

Preference is given to applicants closest to completing their training and those who can demonstrate diverse cultural competencies.

Up to $15,000 per year with a maximum of $60,000.
