Loan repayment assistance for physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurse midwives, dentists, and psychiatrists who agree to serve in a Health Professional Shortage Area of Illinois.

Illinois Underserved Physician Workforce (UPW) Loan Repayment Program
Funding to assist communities in recruiting physicians to their nonprofit healthcare facilities in Heath Professional Shortage Areas in Illinois. Practice location sites register and agree to sponsor any provider who wishes to be considered for the program. Providers may apply for loan repayment in return for service at an approved site for at least 2 years.

Illinois J-1 Visa Waiver Program Inactive
Offers a J-1 Visa waiver to foreign physicians who commit to serving for 3 years in an underserved area of Illinois, allowing them to remain in the United States.

Illinois Podiatric Medicine Scholarship Inactive
Scholarships for podiatric physician students who agree to practice in a shortage area of Illinois upon graduation.
