Purpose

The Medica Foundation Behavioral Health Grant program offers funding for projects that assist people with serious mental illness and substance use disorders, as well as proposals that address behavioral health workforce shortages.

Programs should focus on:

  • Addressing gaps in behavioral health services
  • Integration of physical and mental healthcare
  • Addressing co-occurring disorders
  • Addressing mental health needs of children
  • Providing supportive and intensive case management services

Preference is given to organizations using trauma-sensitive practices and a strengths-based approach to care, as well as to proposals that build partnerships and collaborations within a community.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants are 501(c)(3) charitable organizations, Tribal Nations, and public/governmental agencies within Medica Foundation's service area in Minnesota.

Organizations that received a Medica Behavioral Health or Early Childhood Health grant last year or that currently have a strategic grant are not eligible to apply.

A two-step application process is in place for Behavioral Health grants. Submit an initial application through the online application portal by March 31, 2023. Selected applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal.
