Purpose

The Maine Cancer Foundation will provide grants for evidence-based practices that seek to reduce the use of commercial tobacco in Maine.

Areas of focus include:

  • Tobacco prevention for youth and/or adults
  • Tobacco treatment for adults
  • Policy projects related to tobacco use and/or second- or third-hand smoke
  • Projects that address populations disproportionately impacted by tobacco, including but not limited to rural populations, racial and ethnic minorities, and/or the LGBTQ+ community
Eligibility

Eligible applicants include:

  • 501(c)3 tax-exempt charitable organizations
  • Educational institutions
  • Government entities
  • Other public, nonprofit entities

Award ceiling: $40,000 per year
Project period: 2 years

Maine Cancer Foundation is willing to discuss project concepts and review draft applications. Applicants are strongly encouraged to contact Tricia Jamiol to discuss the project and submit a draft application for review and feedback.
