MiCHWA CHW training is an 8 week, 166 hr course, usually scheduled 2 days per week from 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. The employee must live within the community that the employer serves and must commit to work with the same employer for one year post certification.
Eligibility requirements for employers in Michigan:

- Less than $500,000 in annual revenue
- Primarily serve in communities with long-standing health disparities related to race, income, geographic location, and other sociodemographic characteristics (including incarceration and homelessness), or serve members of the LGBTQ+ community
