Purpose

The Texas State Office of Rural Health awards funds for rural public and nonprofit hospitals to make capital improvements to existing facilities, construct new health facilities, or to purchase capital equipment.

Eligibility

Public and nonprofit hospitals located in rural counties are eligible to apply. To qualify as a rural county, the population must be 150,000 or less and contains a geographic area that is not delineated as urbanized by the federal census bureau.

Applicants must provide matching funds in the amount of 25% of the funds requested.
