The Rural Health Association of Tennessee (RHA of TN) offers an apprenticeship preparation and paid apprenticeship program that emphasizes healthcare careers in rural areas of Tennessee.
Tennessee youth ages 16-24 may take an online training to prepare for an apprenticeship. At the completion of the training, RHA of TN will work with youth to find an apprenticeship position and/or refer to other community resources.
Apprenticeships supported by the program include:
- Nursing assistant
- Medical assistant
- Home health aide
- Direct support professional
Eligible participants are Tennessee youth, ages 16-24, who show an interest in and aptitude for healthcare professions.
Online training modules are provided at no cost.
Apprenticeships are paid on-the-job experiences in addition to instruction and mentoring. Once apprentices complete 2000 hours of training, they receive a nationally recognized certificate from the Department of Labor.
A link to the training registration is available on the program website.
Students in Gibson, Henry, Hardeman, Weakley, and Madison Counties may be eligible for additional supportive services. Contact info@tnruralhealth.org for information.
